Chogetsu, named after the monk and poet in the Edo period (1603–1867), is a display typeface in the style of gyosho (semi-cursive style), featuring delicate and fast strokes. It uses OpenType’s contextual ligatures and alternates to faithfully reproduce the calligrapher's brush strokes. Chogetsu also includes a variety of alternates, such as kana variants. All characters in this typeface are proportionally designed with varying width.
